The future is green Diesel

Currently all diesel and paraffin to Uganda is imported, prices are high and rising. The world is running out of diesel, and the fumes pollute.

In Uganda the diesel tree (Jatropha Curcas), is one answer to high cost of diesel.

Grow the diesel tree on your farm - and make your own paraffin, soap or sell the seeds for bio-diesel production. The diesel tree inter crops well with food crops, and is easy to grow and manage.

The tree is locally known as Biloowa, and is often used for vanilla, or fencing.

If pruned well the diesel tree gives 1 to 3 Kg of seeds per year and lives for 40 years or more. The seeds contain 25% oil suitable for paraffin/diesel.

EA (Energy Africa/Energy Agriculture) have years of experience from growing Jatropha diesel tree in Kenya and Uganda

The EA farm (see photo and map), in Mukono welcomes you to learn more about the diesel tree Jatropha Curcas and its many uses.

We offer high quality seedlings for sale at the farm. Contact EA Operations Manager: Maddy Mucite for more info.maddy@energy-africa.com or tel:0772446683
